She was initially assigned to work east patrol B shift and worked several special assignments with the VICE unit. In January 2007 she was assigned to the Tactical Response Unit, an aggressive anti-crime unit. She participated in the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC, recently assisted in the training of the newly developed report writing system and records management system and is a member of the Leadership and Development Committee created by Chief McManus.
She has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Wayland Baptist University and proudly represents the San Antonio Police Departments Honor Guard.
Officer Padilla has a passion for health and fitness and teaches many fitness classes outside of her law enforcement career. She is a fitness instructor with several certifications and enjoys inspiring others to live a healthy lifestyle.
“I have continuously aspired to advance in all aspects of my life, both personal and professional. Upon joining the police department, I had my struggles as a single mother but would not allow adversity to get in my way of fulfilling a life-long dream. I began a venture as a part time fitness instructor shortly after joining SAPD because of my passion to help others. I have helped countless friends aspire to live a healthier lifestyle and will cherish every moment that I have helped someone reach their goals. My law enforcement career has also had a series of special achievements and proud moments. I always attempted to help the less fortunate and treated the worst of the worst with respect. These philosophies have led me to be a successful police officer, fitness instructor and mother.
