Cost of Living

San Antonio’s cost of living is consistently ranked among the lowest of U.S. cities. The state of Texas has no state income tax. The average price of a single-family residential home, as reported by the San Antonio Board of REALTORS, was $174,861 with a median price of $145,500 in November 2011. San Antonio is lower than the national average on multiple cost of living indicators including grocery items, housing, utilities and health care.
